How Does a Vacuum Elevator Work?

A pneumatic vacuum elevator (PVE) is a type of elevator that uses air pressure to gently lift and lower an elevator car instead of cables and pistons. Because it doesn’t require heavy equipment like traditional elevators, it takes up considerably less space and is highly energy-efficient.

Vacuum Elevators are quite, incredibly reliable, and above all, it’s safe.

Vacuum elevators have many benefits compare to older elevator models. Celsius systems pneumatic vacuum elevators use air pressure to lift and gently lower the cabin. the elevator uses a small amount of electricity.

For traditional elevators additional spaces are required for the heavy operating equipment, but vacuum elevator occupies very small space which means, this not only means a small foot print at your home but a much less costly and less messy construction project compare to a traditional elevator project.

These Vacuum Elevators are suitable for two passengers and for application up to G+2 and does not require any head room, it can be easily integrated inside of the house. Vacuum elevator cost is depends upon the client requirement . We are top suppliers in vacuum elevators from pneumatic elevator PVE Vacuum Elevators from USA

Celsius Systems successfully installed more than 400 Pneumatic Vacuum Lifts in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. This Vacuum Elevators has become extremely successful due to its unique features like ease of installation, maintenance and excellent after sales Service.

Vacuum Elevators are Eco-Friendly Elevators and the revolutionary technology has changed the way individuals and goods are being transported vertically in their homes and has performed in an environmentally friendly manner. Rather than utilizing cables or pistons, the specific Vacuum elevator is powered by the most plentiful resources in the world that is Air. We can use these Vacuum Elevators in Villas, Duplex Apartments, Showrooms, and Small offices. The advantages include Zero energy consumption and Practically no maintenance cost also no lubrication required. Installation can be completed within a week.

Vacuum Elevator Highlights Negligible materials and pre-construction work are required as the self-supporting unit does not require a shaft, machine room, and pit. These lifts are very simple to install with the least civil construction and changes to existing buildings. The reliability and security of these vacuum elevators are unique due to the physics in this design and it is virtually not possible to get stuck within floors, or free-fall.

Principles of Operation The Vacuum Elevator combines a smooth vertical cylinder with a coaxial car. It moves up and down through air suction which is one of the principles. The principles of operation of the elevator work on the ascending push. It generates due to the difference between the atmospheric pressure on the top of the car and the atmospheric pressure under the car. The depression (vacuum) to lift the car proceeds by turbines operating as exhaust fans which are at the top of the elevator.

  • The piston gear moves almost without friction and lifts the car because of the gas hollow on the upper part.

  • A opening that controls how much air gets in controls the pneumatic depression, lets the car go down, and controls how fast it goes.

  • The bottom of the shaft is open so that air can get in freely when the pressure is at normal level.

  • At each floor or level, air pressure makes the seals on the door’s edges close on their own.

  • The car has locks that make it stop at the top and bottom of its range.

  • In case of free fall, a safe device (a chute) stops the fall.

Components

EXTERIOR CYLINDER:

The cylinder is a transparent self-supporting tube around a specially designed aluminum structure. The tube walls contain curved polycarbonate sheets. The tube consists of modular sections, which easily can fit into one another. The roof of the tube, made of steel, ensures air-tight closures with suction valves and inlets.

ELEVATOR CAR:

The car runs inside the cylinder on rails/columns, which are part of the same self supporting structure of the cylinder. The walls of the car consist of transparent polycarbonate panels. The car also has an an anchoring system that activates on reaching the indicated floor, provides precise but smooth stops, and locks the car mechanically.

SUCTION ASSEMBLY:

“Head Unit” is on the top of the tube/cylinder, where the turbines, the valves, and the controls are present. The control cabinet is a metal box housing with a PVE controller board and other electric devices. The head unit is present on either the same tube that holds the car (standard), or separately (split unit) at distances of up to 30 linear feet (10m) from the lift. The frame of the suction assembly is of either fiber glass or steel depending upon the model.

7 Advantages of installing a Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator

1. Space-Saving Design

Many residential elevators have installation requirements that can make it challenging to fit an elevator into a smaller home. Typically, they require a machine room or pit under the lowest floor, construction of an elevator shaft, and clearance above the highest floor.

Space-Saving Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator

PVEs have a compact, self-contained design that takes up minimal space. The only floor space required is to accommodate the elevator’s exterior cylinder, which ranges in size between 30″ to 52″ in diameter, depending on the model.

2. Easy Installation

Traditional elevators often require significant renovations to a home to accommodate intricate machinery. Because a PVE is driven by air, it doesn’t require cables, pistons, chains, or counterweights, saving customers from a lengthy and disruptive construction process.

This compact elevator can be retrofitted into an existing home or included in design plans of new construction. The cylinder comes in modular sections that fit together securely for hassle-free assembly. As the PVE installation doesn’t require an elevator shaft or pit, it can be up and running in two to three days.

3. Movable After Installation

PVEs are designed to be freestanding.

You may not think of elevators as portable, but PVEs are completely self-contained. They’re designed to be freestanding and don’t have to be built into the framework of a home. This innovative design means the elevator can be uninstalled and transferred to a different location if you decide to remodel your home or move to another residence.

4. Eco-Friendly

PVEs rely on air pressure, making them a clean, environmentally-friendly way to improve your home’s accessibility. Because they don’t use heavy equipment, there are no oils, lubricants, or gasses required.

This energy-efficient elevator also consumes minimal power. Standard models use only 4.7 kilowatts of energy when the cabin is ascending. The descent relies on gravity and doesn’t use any electricity. PVEs operate on a 220V power supply and can be plugged into a wall, similar to a washer and dryer.

5. Highly Functional

They may be the smallest home elevator on the market, but PVEs provide all the necessary utility to safely and smoothly transport passengers between floors in a multi-level home. They travel up to 50 feet vertically and can be programmed to make up to five stops.

Standard features include push-button controls, automatic interior LED lighting, and a fan to keep the cabin cool and comfortable. Other options include an emergency phone and cabin key lock.

6. Stylish Elegance

Streamlined and elegant, pneumatic vacuum elevators are beautiful enough to be displayed as a showpiece in an entryway, living room, or wraparound stairwell. Their sleek style demonstrates that elevators don’t have to be big and cumbersome.

PVE as a showpiece in your home’s décor

Its modern, cylindrical design features transparent polycarbonate panels that offer 360-degree panoramic visibility. Natural light can flow through the cabin, creating a pleasant experience for passengers as they travel.

The clean, uncluttered lines also offer contemporary styling. There are no ramps, posts, cables or unsightly components, allowing the PVE to integrate naturally into a room.

PVEs come in attractive finishes including dark gray, light gray, white, black, taupe and silver to coordinate with a variety of interior designs.

7. Minimal Maintenance

Most residential elevators require servicing annually, but PVEs have few moving parts and minimal wear and tear because of their simple architecture. Based on average use, they should be professionally service to replace the main seal once every four to five years, or every 15,000 rides.
